Japan　consists　of　47　Prefectures:　43　prefectures prefectures, 2 urban prefectures (Osaka and Kyoto), one “territory” (Hokkaido), and one metropolis (Tokyo). Each prefecture has unique customs, culture, tradition and food. Furthermore, Japan can also be divided into several regions, such as Hokkaido, Tohoku, Kanto, Hokuriku, Chubu, Kōshin’etsu, Tōkai, Kansai, Chugoku, Shikoku, and Kyushu.
